After almost two years of being separated, last April we had the chance to enjoy things that couples normally do.
We had coffee dates…
Oh – this one’s my favorite, but not yours, I reckon. Hehehe, I know you hate it when I forced you to drive around LA… only to crossed off the items from ‘best coffee shops in LA” list that I found on Instagram. Hahaha. I know you prefer that Vietnamese coffee shop near your house and I know that you can’t understand why I drink my latte without sugar, or why we had to pay ~$4 for a cuppa while you usually get your morning coffee half the price in your neighbourhood joint – you think they’re just as good. But, we had the coffee dates anyway. We talked and we enjoyed each other’s company.

We did something very Asian…
Yes, we hung out at a boba place. It was a lovely afternoon, we just had a stroll in the park and had some time to kill before dinner. You said I had to try this boba place. Guess what is it called? Boba Time! Hehehe. It was good, and I enjoyed the K-Pop music playing in the background :p We then had Korean BBQ for dinner. Oh how I love that I can eat whatever when I’m with you. It’s good to share a love for food, but remember we need to maintain our health too 😉

We had hipster water…
That’s what you said! :p But don’t you think this water is cute? hahaha. I remember that day dearly. We took the train from Union Station to Pasadena, playing tourists in your town. When we got to Pasadena, we walked around. Then I found a small shop with some stalls – one of which is The Pie Hole. We both admit that their pies were very tempting so we decided to sit down and had one for each of us. You had the salted chocolate something while I had the strawberry something pie (can’t remember the names! oops!). It’s nice to explore new things together, things that we can’t normally do because of the distance.

We had burgers while watching NBA game…
After that Coachella weekend, we went to Las Vegas for a quick getaway. We went there in 2013, but there’s never a lack of reason to go back to Vegas, right? 😉 This time we wanted to try Shake Shack burger. Rumor has it their burgers are so good and that night we proved that it’s true. But not only the burgers that made it memorable, but the fact that you could not get your eyes off the big screen while we were there. So I protested. Things got a little bit heated up. But it was not a big deal, we reconciled quickly. I learned to tolerate your love for NBA just like you tolerate my love for finding instagram-able spots :p

And that’s just some of the highlights of how we spent three weeks together. We had fun, we explored together. Sometimes we agree, sometimes not. But most importantly, what we have is real and we enjoyed every seconds of our time together. It’s unfortunate that we have to be separated again, but we’ll hang on… until the next time we meet again.
P.S I miss you 😉
