I started my Sunday by spending time with my mum and brother at home, relaxing. Then I went for lunch with my friends in Kemang area, in an American restaurant called Nolita Coffee & Comfort Food. We used to work in the same place but the three of us have left the company now. It was great to meet them as it has been awhile since we last hung out together.
Btw, I decided not to drive yesterday. Instead, I conveniently took Uber. It is something that I have been doing for a while – ditching my car and took public transportation during the weekend because I feel that I need a break from my usual weekdays commute (mind you I spent roughly 3 hours driving every day :|).
After lunch I made an impromptu decision to watch a movie. That is – Allegiant. Yesss, it’s the third installment in The Divergent Series but the first of two movies based on Allegiant novel from the series. Simply put – we are still going to see Theo James, ladies! 😀
I went to a neighborhood mall near my house– One Belpark and watched it there. Alone. I need to stress the fact that I was alone because while I was there I met a friend of mine with his friends and when he found out I was alone he immediately said “don’t you have anything better to do?”. While I understand that he was joking… I get that a lot of people here in Indonesia still find it weird for someone to go to the movies alone.
In contrary I like to do it every once in a while – quite often to be honest, because I don’t like the fuss of having to find a friend to watch a movie with. If I want to see a movie and someone invited me, I’ll go with them but if everyone else happen to be busy, I’ll just go myself. No biggie 🙂
What do you think?
Anyway.. the movie was so – so. The plot’s rather different from the book but Theo James caught my attention almost the whole movie hahahaha (poke: Joeyz). What’s interesting was that around halfway through the movie, the Indonesian subtitles got stuck for a while they continued to screen it without subtitles but then the cinema management decided to stop the movie to fix it! We had to wait for around 20 minutes for the movie resumed normally. Bummer! Did it ever happen to you?
After the movie, I bought dinner to bring home, called Uber and while waiting for my car to arrive I sat down in the mall’s empty lobby to enjoy some breeze (Which surprisingly not that polluted, perhaps since it’s in a residential area), and people – watch 😀
And that’s how my Sunday went. How’s yours?
Cheers to a great week!
P.S It’s going to be a long weekend here in Indonesia and I’m really looking forward to it 🙂
