On becoming a guest lecturer
Earlier this week I had a chance to become a guest lecturer in a private university in Jakarta. It was not my first time though, but my second time. The first time was last year, where I was given the opportunity to give a lecture about my previous work for a undergraduate Marketing class. It was pretty basic – at that time I was still working for a company which brand is in the top 5 of world’s most valuable brands.. so all I did was shared some successful marketing campaigns which I was involved in, and had a Q&A session.
But this time it was a little bit different. The class was a Consumer Behavior class, still undergraduate, and I was asked to give lecture about the applications of Consumer Behavior in the industry. Shortly, it was more challenging! :))))) but of course I was up for the challenge… 😉
To be honest I had forgotten the theories about Consumer Behavior, although it was one of my favorite subjects at uni. I did some readings to refresh my memory, and as I read along, my memory quickly came back, so I managed to include some good ol’ theories in addition to some study cases for my lecture.
So, thankfully the class went smoothly. Nobody fell asleep to my lecture, hahaha… although some occasionally chatted with each other. But hey I did that too when I was in my undergrads years! :p. I was also so happy when I received some questions at the end of my session. And there was this exchange student from Korea who actually came to see me after class to ask more questions about his future career. I felt sooo content for being able to share 🙂

Now I’m seriously considering to become a full-time lecturer later in life. Well maybe not full-time. Ah, I don’t know. But for sure the idea of giving more lectures in the future is not bad at all! 🙂
On seeing Batman vs Superman
I know.. I know.. it’s been two weeks since the movie was first released in Indonesia but I just had the chance to see it yesterday. I still decided to see it even though I’ve read the not-so-supportive reviews. I mean, I couldn’t miss seeing Ben Affleck vs Henry Cavill on big screen, could I? :p
It was a really long movie to be honest. I didn’t quite get the first half of the movie and I can understand why some fans are disappointed about it.. but to me – who does not really read the comic, I think the movie was alright. I’ve seen a lot of worse and more boring ones, really. And I don’t know about you, but I also think the fighting scene was pretty awesome for a superhero movie.

Senangnya Chris berkesempatan berbagi ilmu dengan mengajar. Semoga kesampaian ya untuk full time mengajar. Aku pernah menggantikan dosenku mengajar waktu S2 kemaren. Untungnya ga ada yang ngantuk karena memang mata kuliahnya statistik 😅
Wah salut Den, ngga kebayang ngajar statistik.. hihihi. Aku kayaknya ketolong karena banyak nyelipin contoh kasus Marketing hehehe. Amiin, cita2 di masa depan, moga2 kesampaian 🙂
Haa..ha…aku juga kalo ngajar muridku yang mo berangkat training ke Jepang jadi sedih lho kalo mereka ngantuk pas aku ngajar. Tapi, kalo aku tanya sih mereka bukan ngantuk karena aku ngajarnya ngebosenin, tapi karena mereka capek setelah kerja dan langsung disambung sama belajar bahasa Jepang. Alhamdulillah 🙂 Dan aku selalu wanti wanti ke muridku kalo cara ngajar aku ngebosenin, tolong langsung bilang ke aku biar aku bisa memperbaikinya 🙂 Dan alhamdulillah lagi sampai sekarang belum ada yg komplain 😀

Wih.. Consumer behavior itu salah satu subject yang challenging ya mba, jadi keingat dengan sederetan buku dan jurnal dulu. Aku juga kepingin jadi dosen, sempat ditawarin tapi belum berasa PD ni mba, even guest lecturer only. Aku juga telat nonton Batman vs Superman and sejujurnya kecewa dengan filmnya, untungnya Gal Gabot cukup menarik perhatian, haha.. Lagunya bagus mba..

Iyaa aku suka banget sama Wonder Woman. Btw, menurutku adegan berantem mereka bertiga itu termasuk keren banget deh, walau awal2nya memang sedikit dipertanyakan hehe.

Selalu salute sama orang yang bisa ngajar plus murid2nya masih seumuran.. aku dulu juga pernah ngajar short course soal wedding organizer, paling deg2an kalo misalnya dapat pertanyaan terus jawab nya ragu atau gak bisa jawab. Untungnya belum pernah gak bisa jawab.. Haha..
Kayaknya kuncinya harus ngajar sesuatu yg kita bener2 suka deh Inly, jadi gak grogi 🙂 hihihi btw itu murid2 bedanya lebih dr 10 taun sama aku.. masi bisa dianggap seumuran juga lah yaa :p
Bisa2, haha.. dulu muridku juga ada yang sudah ibu2 juga..
