Hello everyone! This is Christa and I’m letting you know that I am alive… hehehe. I know, I know, it’s been ages since my last post.. in fact the last time I posted anything here was September 2017! Which means that I’ve gone 3 months AWOL … oops.
So, without further ado, let me just tell you what has happened offline during the 3 months I was away from the blogosphere.
I got married!
Uhm I guess that’s the main reason why I didn’t post anything on this blog.. yes you read it right, I am now married!! I would really really love to share some more details about the series of events but I am still waiting for the pictures from our photographer so I figured better to wait until everything’s here so I can tell you the complete story! 🙂
Anyway, R and I got married last November in Jakarta with a small religious ceremony in which I wore a semi-traditional Sundanese attire, followed by a simple lunch with our closest family and friends. It was a laid-back lunch, I wore the prettiest dress in my favorite color (coral!), we sang, we danced, we took tons of pictures, and also bid farewell to my Jakarta life.
Before I go into details… Let me just share a picture of me getting ready, which I believe was taken by Marcya, one of my bridesmaids. So.. My make up (including the sundanese siger) was done by Prastita Pontjo, hair do was by Putri Pratiwi , and the man behind all the ‘official’ pictures that you will see is David Christover.
I moved to the US!
And yes I hope this also explains the hiatus. A day after we got married, we went for a honeymoon to Bali and Singapore (More details later!), then shortly after I moved to the US. This means that no more long distance relationship for R and I!! Yiiippeeee!!
We are living in Southern California now, in the suburbs outside of Los Angeles. For the time being, I am a full-time housewife and just trying to fit into this new life, really. I am enjoying my new role and routines and definitely will write more posts about my new life 🙂
Those are the highlight of the things that happened offline during my time away from this blog. I’ll definitely share some more!
And since we are still in early January, I would like to also reflect back on the past year.
2017 was one hella year for me. I left my job and decided to become a freelancer, I visited China for the first time, I dealt with a lot of stress, and if that’s not enough, I got married and moved to a new country! 😀
There were times that I felt like I was about to lose it, but somehow I always managed to go through, all the time. And that’s how I learned 2017’s biggest lesson… to be more faithful.
As for 2018, I have got no resolutions. I’m just going to live life day by day, doing my best and letting God play the rest. I know life here is not going to be easy but I got the best partner by my side and though far apart, we’re surrounded by loving family and friends… only by God’s grace.
So…Here’s wishing you a GREAT year ahead, may things go smoothly your way and may far less bad things will happen in the world we are all living in. Happy New Year!! x
