Sephora Skincare Solutions Class

Moving here and having not much to – do sort of make me eager to try out new things, one of which is to attend a skin care class. A couple days ago I was spending my time at the mall and went inside Sephora, because who can resist, right? πŸ˜€ there I saw that they have a selection of free classes that you can join. I repeat, FREE.

There are a variety of classes from basic make up, smoky eyes to contouring 101, and there’s this voice in my head that told me to join them all. Which is a bit odd because back in Indonesia I wouldn’t want to be spending myΒ time to attend beauty classes if I didn’t really have to. But since I’m here with a lot of free time, why not? so I thought.

I decided to join skincare Solutions class as a starter because I think it’s important to have a healthy skin first, then I can start learning how to do make up more properly. Right? πŸ™‚

So I registered myself and came to the class last Sunday. Mind you the class started at 8 AM. On a Sunday. But I was excited!

The class first started with an identification of your skin type and needs. The beauty advisor measured my skin’s hydration levels using a tool that looks like a thermometer and luckily the result is within the normal range (about 50-ish I suppose). Then she asked me my concerns about my skin, in which she used my answers to suggest an array of skin care products that I can try out.

Afterwards, the instructor explained skincare fundamentals and the steps we need to take to get that dewy, healthy skin. Sounds interesting to me! I really didn’t realise that there are so many adjectives you can use to describe your skin’s condition! hahaha :))))

So basically there are 7 steps: Cleanse – mask –Β  serum – eye cream – moisturiser – sunscreen – coverage (BB/CC cream). All this time I have only been doing half of the steps, basically just cleanse, moisturise and put sunscreen. I like to apply aΒ mask once or twice every week but I don’t think I’ll be doing more for the time being though because I don’t wear that much of a makeup and don’t really go out much these days….But it’s a good knowledge, and it’s so much fun trying out all the products, I came back home with a skin that’s looking so refreshed.

Anyway… that’s one of the new things that I’ve been experiencing since I moved here. I’ll be sharing some more as a keepsake to look back over the coming years πŸ™‚

One last thing before I finish this post – just curious, what are your skincare routine? care to share? πŸ™‚

  1. Same here. Cleanse – moisturize – sunscreen. Mask/scrub on the weekend or at least once a month or whenever I bought those cute cartoon face masks (usually 3 times a year). And I go out almost everyday! I’m the epitome of skin care ignorant!

  2. Yay I almost begged you to write this on the blog when I saw your post on IG πŸ™‚ My skincare routine is: first cleanse with micellar water – foam cleanser – toner – serum – eye cream – lip balm (I use moisturising serum so most of the time I skip moisturiser, I put sunscreen after serum in the morning) and put mask twice a week, and facescrub once a week or after I wear heavy makeup. Repot, much? hahaha

    1. Nggak repot sih tapi dedicated!! hehehe.. I’m considering to buy serum now because tbh since I got here I feel like my skin looks better, maybe because it’s properly moisturised now compared to when I was still in Jakarta.. so next on the list is to get rid of my acne scars and redness .. still a long way to go, need a lot to learn! :)))))))

  3. I don’t do much just cleanse, moisturize, sunscreen. I like the idea of mask every now and then but I always forget πŸ˜‚ I used to put make up on but I am trying to be as natural as possible nowadays (or in other words I’ve gotten lazy hahahaha). Oh and I love my lipbalm!

  5. Masker clay L’oreal twice a week. I religiously apply SK-II Facial Treatment Essence daily before going to bed, and sunblock in daily basis also. Aside from those three, I stick to minimum regime as I’m toooooo lazy to do that πŸ˜€
And.. I don’t apply make up, except for special occasion such as dancing performance.

      1. SK-II is good when your skin have no problem. But if you have, it doesn’t really work. I’ve tried their serum 2 bottles but didn’t give any effect on my skin so I stop buying cos it’s so dear!

  6. Pagi bangun pake 3-stepnya clinique yang kulit kombinasi, cuman step 2 dan 3 doang. Pulang kerja cuci muka pake Micellar water klo ga langsung mandi. Otherwise cuci pake sabun Biore (beli banyak banget dari Jepang!! haha), terus malem pake Time Revolution Night Repairnya Missha. Enggak ribet mah secara aku jg ga pake makeup tebal sehari2nya, cm pake bedak + pensil alis doang. Klo ada acara2 baru pake foundation etc

    1. Kemaren pas di kelas itu aku coba Clinique toner nya tapi gak cocok kayaknya.. perih banget terus merah2 kulitku 😦 btw aku juga pake sabun Biore yang exfoliating kalau abis make up rada tebel alias pake foundation etc hehehe.. sehari hari sih sama, bedak doang πŸ™‚

    1. Waktu mau nikahan aku maskeran tiap hari selama sebulan Non, kata make up artist ku sih kulitku keliatan kinclong dan lebih enak di makeup-in dibanding pas aku test make up sebulan sebelumnya hehehe

  7. Skincare routine aku: cleanse wt miscelar water, then foam with DMK deep cleanse, then eye cream, then serums and moisturiser at night. Morning, same cleanse and serums and moisturiser and suncream and bb/cc cream if I’m going out otherwise just bronzer. Tried to put on mask once a week. Sunday night is my mask night😜😜

    1. oohh kamu double cleansing yaa Ri, aku baru aja baca2 soal double cleansing ini hehehe.. katanya bagus buat kulit sensitif kayak aku, mungkin aku mau coba πŸ™‚ and sunday mask night is always a good idea! xx

Cuci muka masih biore, trus pake refiner (macam toner), emulsion, moisture cream. Sunscreen malah suka lupa. Padahal penting banget ya.. Terus seminggu 2x tidur pake water sleeping mask, paginya kulit muka kenyal kek pantat bayi..wkwkw..

    1. Udh jadi member sephora di Indo belum py? coba deh.. siapa tau ada! πŸ˜€

wahh pengen cobain dong water sleeping mask nya laneige ya? banyak baca review katanya oke.. aku cobain lip sleeping mask nya tokcer sih hihihi

      1. Belum euy, bebelian di Sephora aja belum pernah..wkwkwk.. Tapi naksir beauty class nya πŸ˜€

Ok bgt Chris, bangun pagi tuh muka kenyel2..
