Moving here and having not much to – do sort of make me eager to try out new things, one of which is to attend a skin care class. A couple days ago I was spending my time at the mall and went inside Sephora, because who can resist, right? 😀 there I saw that they have a selection of free classes that you can join. I repeat, FREE.
There are a variety of classes from basic make up, smoky eyes to contouring 101, and there’s this voice in my head that told me to join them all. Which is a bit odd because back in Indonesia I wouldn’t want to be spending my time to attend beauty classes if I didn’t really have to. But since I’m here with a lot of free time, why not? so I thought.
I decided to join skincare Solutions class as a starter because I think it’s important to have a healthy skin first, then I can start learning how to do make up more properly. Right? 🙂
So I registered myself and came to the class last Sunday. Mind you the class started at 8 AM. On a Sunday. But I was excited!
The class first started with an identification of your skin type and needs. The beauty advisor measured my skin’s hydration levels using a tool that looks like a thermometer and luckily the result is within the normal range (about 50-ish I suppose). Then she asked me my concerns about my skin, in which she used my answers to suggest an array of skin care products that I can try out.
Afterwards, the instructor explained skincare fundamentals and the steps we need to take to get that dewy, healthy skin. Sounds interesting to me! I really didn’t realise that there are so many adjectives you can use to describe your skin’s condition! hahaha :))))
So basically there are 7 steps: Cleanse – mask – serum – eye cream – moisturiser – sunscreen – coverage (BB/CC cream). All this time I have only been doing half of the steps, basically just cleanse, moisturise and put sunscreen. I like to apply a mask once or twice every week but I don’t think I’ll be doing more for the time being though because I don’t wear that much of a makeup and don’t really go out much these days….But it’s a good knowledge, and it’s so much fun trying out all the products, I came back home with a skin that’s looking so refreshed.
Anyway… that’s one of the new things that I’ve been experiencing since I moved here. I’ll be sharing some more as a keepsake to look back over the coming years 🙂
One last thing before I finish this post – just curious, what are your skincare routine? care to share? 🙂
