Goodbye 2016,Hello 2017!

To me, 2016 was full of mixed emotions. In some parts it was amazing, but in contrary it also brings me down to the point where I could not even believe. There were so many turmoils happened in my life until when I tried to look back to reflect on 2016… I somehow lost my memory.

Really, I could not recall clearly what happened each months, perhaps simply because some months were so hard to be went through. But anyway, despite what had happened, I’m still thankful as I am alive, well and breathing, surrounded by my loved ones. They say what does not kill you makes you stronger, right? 🙂

My 30th Birthday

I turned 30 last Sunday, and it was the best birthday I’ve had in several years! So, here’s the story…

For as long as I can remember, my birthday eve was always spent at my aunt’s house with my extended family (except the one year I spent in England), and this year was no different. When the clock stroke midnight, everybody wished each other Merry Christmas, and a happy birthday to me. We then sang happy birthday and I blew my candles. We ate some cake, spent some more time, until finally it was time to go home.

Remaja masa kini mungkin? Hmmm. Tentunya netizen Indonesia gempar lah liatnya, banyak yang mencela, banyak pula yang memuji. Biasalah, standar sensasi media sosial jaman sekarang.

I said yes

It was Sunday, the 11th of September. R, my mum, my brother and I were in Hong Kong and it was our last night there.

The weather was very humid, we were super tired from walking all day, all I wanted was to just have a shower and sleep. But still I thought I could not leave Hong Kong without seeing the Symphony of Lights, right?

Hong Kong Travel Diary (2)

This is part two of my Hong Kong Travel Diary series. Read part one here .

Day 2 – Saturday 10th September

Our first agenda for that day was to meet my best friend Jinitya and her little family for brunch. As she was staying in Wan Chai area as well, we decided to meet around the area and found a place to eat. But first, coffee.

We made it to Hong Kong!

After more than 6 months planning, I finally made it to Hong Kong. Unlike my past holidays for almost the past 10 years where I normally went with friends or by myself, this one was really special because I went with my family plus R too <3.

It started with a plan to take my mum and brother for a holiday. Then I decided to set Hong Kong as the destination because it’s not too far and (I thought) not too expensive, plus they have Disneyland which we haven’t been to.

Lucky the universe seemed to conspire and last March I scored promotion tickets from Singapore Airlines from Jakarta to Hong Kong. Yay! And then when R finally decided to come to Jakarta this September, he managed to find a multi-city ticket with a good deal so he could stop by Hong Kong before reaching Jakarta. All seemed good, I was happy that he got to join our family holiday.
